Nirvana never ends
NIRVANA, who don’t know them ??
Kehidupan vokalisnya (kurt cobain-red) yang fenomenal membuat band satu ini tetap akan selalu menjadi icon bagi anak muda se-dunia. Saya sendiri sudah sering mendengar nama Nirvana sebelumnya. Banyak artis papan atas Hollywood yang menjadikan mereka sebagai idola.
Sekitar tahun 2005, ketika close friend saya yang tidak lain adalah fans sejati Nirvana menyanyikan lagu “about a girl” yang ditujukan untuk saya, mampu membuat hati tergetar. Lirik lagu yang sederhana namun sarat makna, ditambah dengan suara Cobain yang bening menjadikan lagu ini istimewa bagi kami. Di lain waktu apabila kami pergi ke karaoke untuk refreshing, lagu ini selalu menjadi lagu wajib untuk dinyanyikan.
Romantisme dari setiap lirik yang diciptakan oleh Cobain & friend langsung dapat dirasakan sejak pertama kali mendengar lagu mereka. Kalangan manapun yang mendengarkan akan mengagumi vokal Cobain yang fresh dan orisinil.
Saya sendiri bukan penggemar musik rock, bagi saya pecinta rock & roll adalah orang yang tidak cinta ketenangan dan kesehatan. Bagaimana mungkin dapat terus menerus mendengar musik yang dapt membuat gendang telinga dapat tidak berfungsi dengan normal ?? Tapi well, semuanya kembali lagi kepada personal masing- masing.
Back to Nirvana, beberapa bulan setelah close friend saya meminjami kaset- kaset Nirvana mulai dari mereka masih menjadi indie band hingga album terakhir (heart shaped box), saya tidak sengaja menemukan buku biografi Kurt Cobain di salah satu toko buku dan membelinya, menghadiahkan kepada close friend saya tersebut, dan meminjam untuk dapat membacanya.
Karena buku tersebut tidak dibuat sendiri oleh yang bersangkutan ( Cobain-red) saya menyangsikan apakah semua kisah yang tertulis di dalamnya adalah kisah nyata atau sekedar terkaan belaka. Namun menurut saya buku tersebut cukup memberikan kepuasan bagi pecinta Nirvana untuk mengetahui kehidupan Cobain di masa lampau, terutama bagi para penggemar yang tidak hidup di era kejayaan mereka, yang hanya dapat mengagumi dari karya – karya mereka terdahulu.
