Menjadi Selebrity Dunia Maya
Tulisan ini dimuat di Tabloid PCPlus edisi 303, Minggu 1 bulan Maret 2008
Perkembangan teknologi (termasuk internet) memungkinkan seseorang mengalami apa yang disebut sebagai ‘mobilitas vertikal’. Terminologi tersebut merujuk pada pengertian lompatan status sosial yang tak terbatas tempat, waktu dan bahkan mungkin tidak pernah terpikir sebelumnya.
Contoh kongkretnya begini, masih ingatkah cita-cita kita masa kecil? Ambil contoh ingin menjadi Bupati di tempat kelahiran. Terbayang berapa tahun karier politik yang harus dibangun. Dan belum tentu berhasil. Karena misalnya kalah dalam pilkada atau malah mungkin nggak punya cukup uang buat kampanye. Walhasil impian tersebut tinggal kenangan belaka.
Namun sekarang, dengan perkembangan teknologi internet. Seseorang yang tadinya (mungkin) nobody bisa menjadi somebody. Atau from zero to hero. Entah itu memang karena kapabilitas orang itu yang super duper hebat alias jagoan, tapi bisa jadi justru karena hobby dan dedikasinya pada bidang tertentu sehingga orang tersebut menjadi figur yang menempati ‘status sosial’ terhormat yang bahkan tak ada kaitannya dengan latarbelakang keilmuan yang digeluti sebelumnya.
Ambil contoh misalnya Yanto Prawoto, seorang yang berlatar belakang teknik, karena kecintaannya pada dunia scriptwriting, akhirnya membuat milis Layarkata Network yang beranggotakan ribuan anggota dengan impian sama. Menjadi penulis skenario! Kini milis tersebut telah menghasilkan berapa penulis skenario dan menjadi tempat hangout penulis skenario professional. Dan Mas Yanto, sapaan akrabnya, yang baru setahun menanggalkan status lajangnya (ketemu jodoh karena rajin chatting dengan gadis semarang yang kini jadi istrinya) kini menjadi tokoh penting dalam team penulisan skenario televisi Extravaganza di Trans TV.
Mungkin juga kita bisa berkaca dari pengamalan Helvy Tiana Rosa bersama beberapa temannya. Staff pengajar universitas negeri di bilangan Rawamangun ini, kini bahkan mendunia, dengan milis Forum lingkarpena yang kini anggotanya tersebar di hampir 100 kota besar di Indonesia dan berbagai mancanegara. Bahkan menginspirasi banyak TKI di Hong Kong untuk menjadi penulis. Bahkan meluncurkan novel yang diantaranya best seller!
Bahkan beberapa nama diantaranya dianggap menjadi suhu dunia perbloggeran dan milis yang meramaikan jagad maya seperti Enda Nasution, Piryadi, Alfatih, Dirga Yuza, Aulia Masna, Farid Gaban, Naratama, Bondan Winarno, atau yang dari sononya sudah ngetop seperti Wimar Witoelar, Yusri Ihza dan Adie Massardi dan beberapa nama lainnya. Tentu juga Onno Purbo yang rela meninggalkan jabatan sebagai pengajar di ITB karena terpanggil menjadi guru yang lebih banyak lagi. Komunitas internet dimanapun berada. Yang membuat Kang Ono, demikian akrab dipanggil bisa melanglang jagad nyata dan menjadi konsultan di beberapa negara berkembang.
Komunitas maya (milis) juga membuat orang yang ‘biasa biasa’ saja menjadi selebrity di kelompoknya dan dianggap sebagai Kepala Suku (ada yang menjuluki Kepala Sekolah) bagi komunitasnya. Misalnya Jonriah Ukur Ginting (Jonru) yang mengelola milis Penulislepas dengan ribuan anggota yang sempat beberpa kali mengadakan gathering dan workshop penulisan. Padahal awalnya, bahkan Jonru kebingungan mencari komunitas yang bisa membimbingnya untuk belajar menekuni dunia penulisan. Atau tengoklah komunitas Bundainbiz yang anggotanya adalah para ibu rumah tangga. Anggotanya mereka bisa saling berbagi pengetahuan, arisan dan memulai usaha kecil kecilan tanpa kehilangan kesempatan mengasuh buah hatinya secara penuh.
Dan kini, silaturahmi dunia maya itu seolah menjadi dunia paralel yang seramai dunia nyata. Mereka berkumpul dan saling berinteraksi layaknya pertemuan besar. Yang kadang juga bersilang pendapat seperti dinamika pergaulan dunia nyata yang sering memantik konflik antar anggota. Contohnya terjadi di milis mediacare yang dikomandani oleh Radityo Djajoeri, Atau Faried Gaban dan beberapa jurnalis yang menggerakkan milis jurnalisme.
Intinya, sekarang tak ada batasan waktu dan kesempatan bagi tiap orang untuk menempati status sosial tertentu dalam dunia maya. Termasuk anda. Atau anda punya pendapat lain?
Penulis Bekerja di sebuah televisi swasta di Jakarta, Anggota ratusan milis dan memiliki alamat blog di www.lorongcahaya.multiply.comorang biasa, bukan pemilik sebuah milis, apalagi selebrity dunia maya.

Hm, kalo status selebnya hanya berarti *terkenal* di dunia maya aja, bisa jadi banyak juga seleb2 tak berkualitas, yg terkenal krn produktif alias rajin nulis dan posting di berbagai milis tanpa menghiraukan apa yang didiskusikan sehingga namanya muncul di mana2, tapi tulisannya ga relevan sama sekali. Seolah2 dia sibuk ngomong tp ga peduli pendengarnya. Ada kan yg kaya gitu?

Untuk obsesklik, sepenuhnya setuju, makanya, nama-nama yang saya angkat, adalah orang-orang yang memiliki kontribusi dalam komunitas dunia maya (dan nyata) dengan menggunakan perkembangan teknologi sebagai instrument untuk berkiprah dalam komunitasnya masing-masing.

Saya menulis beberapa skenario film namun dari pembuatan hingga sekarang telah menghasilkan beberapa karya penulisan namun sulit bagi saya untuk mendapatkan PH ataupun pihak yang dapat mengakomodir Skenario saya…beberapa waktu lalu saya mencoba peruntungan ke Jakarta…jangankan ketemu sama pihak yang bersangkutan ….ketemu alamatnya juga enggak…jika teman2 milis memilikio solusinya mohon solusinya….
