Menjelang malam sehabis sholat isya, “Aku” merebahkan tubuh di atas kasur. Biasanya “Aku” selalu menonton acara TV sebelum tidur. Entah kenapa? Malam itu “Aku” malas menyentuh remote TV. Di biarkannya remote itu tergeletak di pinggir kasur bersama dengan handpone. Berkali-kali “Aku” menghela nafas dengan menatap langit-langit kamar kontrakan yang berukuran tiga kali empat meter. Cukup besar juga sih kamar itu. Buktinya “Aku” bisa menaruh lemari pakaian, kasur lantai, televisi dan DVD serta tempat air minum yang biasa di sebut dispenser. Nggak ketinggalan juga alat-alat yang lainnya. Hampir dua tahun “Aku” menempati kamar kontrakan. Dan yang membuat “Aku” betah karena yang punya kamar kontrakan orangnya baik sekali. “Aku”pun merasa nyaman dan nggak mungkin pindah ke tempat lain. Pernah satu bulan yang lalu seorang teman “Aku” di tempat kerjaan menawarkan untuk pindah kontrakan, tapi “Aku” tetap nggak mau walaupun sewa kontrakan yang baru itu lebih murah.
“Aku” masih berbaring di atas kasur. Segenap pikiran “Aku” menerawang jauh ke masa yang telah lampau. Tiba-tiba “Aku” merasa sedang melihat lorong waktu yang sudah “Aku” lalui. Di mana “Aku” merajut kisah asmara dengan seorang gadis yang ada di album foto. Yap! Gadis itu memang sangat cantik dan menawan. Nggak heran, semua pemuda yang ada di sekelilingnya menaruh harapan dan cinta. termasuk “Aku”. Sebut saja gadis itu bernama Asriah.
Sosok gadis yang bernama Asriah memang patut di perebutkan oleh semua pemuda desa. Dengan kulit yang hitam manis, rambut panjang tergerai serta wajah yang cantik rupawan membuat semua hati pemuda berdebar-debar kala menatapnya. Begitu juga “Aku”, hampir setiap malam gadis cantik nan rupawan itu menjadi bagian dari mimpi “Aku”. Padahal waktu itu “Aku” belum mengutarakan seluruh isi di dalam hati. “Aku” memang sosok pemuda yang kurang percaya diri di antara teman-teman. “Aku” selalu minder bila bertatapan dengan Asriah. Ujung-ujungnya “Aku” hanya bisa menelan ludah. “Aku” memang betul-betul pemuda yang sangat kuno dalam pergaulan. Mungkin kalau jaman sekarang di bilang culun atau apalah!
Jangan di kira “Aku” itu culun punya wajah jelek! Bisa di bilang “Aku” itu punya wajah yang lumayan keren buat ukuran waktu itu. Yah…bisa di bilang mendekati sempurna. Mungkin karena wajah “Aku” yang lumayan keren, Asriah menyambut cinta “Aku” saat “Aku” menyatakan cintanya. Tapi sayang…kisah cinta antara “Aku” dan Asriah cuma seumur jagung. Sakit juga rasanya! Cinta antara “Aku” dan Asriah nggak pernah di restui oleh kedua orang tua “Aku”. Mau nggak mau “Aku” dan Asriah berpisah dengan kata maaf dan penyesalan. Menyesal kenapa diantara “Aku” dan Asriah harus ada rasa cinta?!
Ufs! Tiba-tiba “Aku” tersadar dari lamunan. “Aku” hanya bisa tersenyum hambar bila teringat semua kenangan itu. Kenangan itu memang sangat manis walaupun cuma seumur jagung! Ah! Dimanakah engkau gerangan As?! Gumam hati “Aku” sambil memeluk guling yang ada disisi pembaringan. Dan akhirnya “Aku” terlelap dalam tidur yang bertaburan mimpi indah. Entah mimpi bersama siapa? Yang jelas “Aku” terlihat selalu tersenyum dengan manisnya!
