2008 – Tahun Sial atau Hoki Plus?

Teman-teman.
Seperti biasanya. Setiap menjelang pergantian tahun, orang cenderung disibukkan oleh berbagai hal yang belum tentu perlu. Salah satu hal yang paling umum dilakukan adalah ‘menghitung-hitung’ peruntungan tahun depan. Itu mungkin berguna. Mungkin juga tidak. Berguna jika dilandasi oleh semangat untuk menggapai perbaikan dari apa yang sudah diraih tahun ini. Dan itu pastilah harus diikuti oleh kejujuran untuk mengakui kekurangan-kekurangan, kesalahan-kesalahan, dan dosa-dosa yang kita lakukan tahun ini; bukan malah memungkirinya dengan sikap angkuh. Dengan begitu, kita mempunyai kesempatan untuk menjadi manusia yang ‘lebih bernilai’.
Sebaliknya, menghitung-hitung peruntungan tahun depan bisa tidak berguna. Terutama jika segala prediksi diliputi oleh pesimisme. Saya tidak bermaksud memasabodohkan kecanggihan kemampuan fortune tellers. Saya menghormati kemampuan itu. Dan sungguh, saya mempercayai mereka, meskipun saya tahu; banyak orang yang menganggapnya kelenik belaka. Saya menganggap mereka sebagai orang-orang yang diberkati Sang Maha Tahu. Bukankah tidak ada yang bisa menghalangi, jika Dia hendak memberi tahu sesuatu kepada seseorang yang dipilihNya? Jadi, ketika para fortune tellers mengatakan akan terjadi bencana ini dan itu tahun depan, saya tidak berniat untuk menampiknya. Mungkin saja ‘terawang’ mereka benar adanya. Jadi, tahun depan akan ada bencana. So what?
Jangan salah paham dulu. ‘So what’ saya itu tidak untuk menantang. So-what saya bermaksud; kalaupun memang tahun depan ada bencana, apa dong yang harus kita lakukan supaya dampaknya bisa dikurangi. Tapi ah, mengapa pusing? Bukankah berdasarkan penglihatan para fortune tellers, bencana itu terjadinya jauh dari rumah kita? So what? Nah, yang ini so what egoistis. Tapi, jujur saja, bukankah kita memang tidak terlalu tertarik dengan sesuatu yang tidak langsung mempengaruhi hidup kita? Jika ada dua ramalan; pertama akan ada bencana alam ditempat sejauh 9999 kilometer dari tempat tinggal kita, dan kedua; bisnis kita akan berat tahun depan. Mana yang akan menarik perhatian kita? Saya ragu jika kita lebih fokus kepada urusan ramalan bencana itu. Kecuali jika kita tahu bahwa gara-gara bencana itu, maka penduduk setempat membutuhkan barang atau jasa yang disediakan oleh bisnis kita. Jika tidak, pasti kita pusing duluan memikirkan ramalan; bisnis kita akan berat tahun depan.
Berguna apa tidak jika kita memikirkan ramalan itu? Berguna jika kita menjadi terdorong untuk mencari jalan keluar supaya bisnis tidak hancur lebur. Tidak berguna, jika gara-gara ‘penglihatan’ itu, kita demotivated. Padahal, lonceng tanda pergantian tahun saja belum berbunyi. Kita sudah keder duluan.
Guru saya, seorang eksekutif senior dengan reputasi internasional, suatu ketika memberi sebuah ujian. Saya tahu, banyak orang yang telah dan akan gagal menghadapi ujian itu. Dalam sebuah obrolan ringan beliau berkata; “Tahun ini kita memang bagus, tapi, tahun depan kelihatannya agak berat nih….” Ketika beliau berkata demikian, naluri saya segera bekerja. Lalu saya memutuskan untuk mengikuti iramanya. “Kenapa bilang begitu, Pak?” balas saya
Beliau bilang;”Karena 2008 itu angka jelek. 2+0+0+8=10. Angka yang jelek.” Katanya. Setahu saya memang banyak ramalan yang menyatakan bahwa tahun depan bakal kurang menguntungkan. Tapi saya bertekat untuk lulus ujian itu.
“Saya berpikir sebaliknya,” saya bilang. “Bagi saya, 2008 akan menjadi Tahun Hoki Plus.”
“Hoki Plus?” katanya.
“Ya. Tahun Hoki Plus.” Saya menegaskan. “Jika banyak orang yang percaya bahwa angka 10 itu sama dengan zero, seharusnya mereka yakin bahwa tahun depan akan menjadi tahun dimana mereka tidak rugi. Sekalipun mereka tidak untung, tapi tahun depan harus diterjemahkan sebagai tahun dimana bisnis kita mungkin agak stagnan.”
“Hmmh, baiklah.” Katanya. “Tapi itu bukan Hoki Plus.” Sanggahnya kemudian.
“Memang bukan.” Jawab saya enteng. “Karena saya tidak menggunakan cara berpikir seperti itu.” Tak sadar tubuh saya sudah bertengger diujung meja. “Angka 10 itu,” saya melanjutkan, “adalah 9 ditambah satu.” Saya berhenti sebentar. “Apa arti angka sembilan bagi kebanyakan orang?” Saya sok melakukan probing.
“Angka keberuntungan.” Jawabnya.
“Tepat sekali!” Saya langsung menyambar jawabannya. “Jaadiiii, angka 10 sama dengan ‘keberuntungan’ ditambah 1. Bukan begitu?” Beliau tersenyum. “Itulah Hoki Plus yang saya maksud.”
Baiklah. Mari kita tegaskan kembali. Tahun 2008, adalah tahun dengan jumlah total angka 10, karena 2+0+0+8=10. Jika kita hendak membuang-buang waktu memikirkan angka 10 itu, boleh-boleh saja. Tapi pastikan itu berguna. Jika kita melihat dari sisi pesimistik angka sepuluh sama dengan zero, maka kita benar-benar melakukan sesuatu yang sama sekali TIDAK BERGUNA.
Sebaliknya, jika kita melihat angka 10 itu sebagai 9+1, maka bagi kita; tahun 2008 berarti tahun dimana kita akan mendapatkan keberuntungan ditambah dengan 1 bagian lagi bonus plusnya. Orang lain mungkin akan stagnan bisnisnya tahun depan. Tapi bisnis saya akan untung ditambah 1 order besar. Orang lain mungkin karirnya akan mandek tahun depan. Sedangkan saya akan mendapatkan tambahan tanggungjawab. Orang lain, mungkin kenaikan gajinya hanya 2 atau 3 persen saja. Atau mungkin 0% karena mereka percaya bahwa tahun depan adalah tahun yang tidak menguntungkan. Tapi saya, akan mendapatkan kenaikan gaji minimal 10%.
Tahun Hoki Plus. Saya mau menyebutnya begitu. Sembilan adalah hoki. Dan angka 1 tambahannya. Jika kita menghitungnya dalam bentuk persen (%) dari 9, maka itu sama dengan 1/9×100%. Ingatkah anda berapa nilainya? Bukan 11%. Bukan pula 11.1%. Atau 11.11%. TAPI, 1/9×100% adalah 11.1111111111111……. hingga tidak berbatas %. Jika anda tidak percaya, ambil kalkulator. Pencet angka satu. Pencet tanda bagi. Pencet angka 9. Pencet tanda kali. Pencet angka 1. Pencet angka 0 dua kali. Lalu pencet tanda sama dengan. Hasilnya, bilangan tak terbatas, bukan?
Apa itu artinya? Artinya. Tahun 2008, akan menjadi tahun penuh keberuntungan bagi anda. Dimana gaji anda akan naik minimal 11% ditambah dengan bonus-bonus menggiurkan yang nyaris tiada berbatas. Artinya. Tahun 2008, akan menjadi tahun penuh keberuntungan bagi anda. Dimana volume bisnis anda akan naik minimal 11% ditambah dengan kesempatan-kesempatan lain untuk membuka bisnis baru yang nyaris tiada batasnya. Sebab, pembagian angka satu dengan 9 menghasilkan angka yang tiada berbatas. Jadi, Tuhan sengaja memberi anda kesempatan untuk hidup hingga tahun 2008, supaya anda mendapatkan begitu banyak kesempatan. Karena kesempatan yang Tuhan hamparkan itu tiada berbatas. Seperti tidak berbatasnya kekayaan dan kekuasaan yang DIA miliki. Pertanyaannya sekarang adalah; bersediakah anda membayar harganya? Bersediakah anda bekerja lebih giat. Berbuat lebih banyak. Bertindak lebih akurat? Jika anda bersedia melakukan semuanya itu, Tahun Hoki Plus akan menjadi milik anda.
Sekarang, marilah kita yakini bahwa; tahun 2008 akan menjadi tahun yang penuh keberuntungan bagi kita, dengan berjuta peluang dan kesempatan yang menanti untuk kita raih. Sebab, tahun 2008 adalah….Tahun Hoki Plus.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
