Rintik hujan, Depok 30, November 2008
Lelaki itu,…tubuh gempalnya tidak dapat menyembunyikan kondisi fisik yang kini semakin lemah. Tampak keramahan, dari senyum yang terselip diantara guratan-guratan keriput wajahnya. Usianya telah renta dengan raut yang menua, ditambah tubuh yang tidak setegar dulu. Namun jiwa dan pengalamanya telah diuji berbagai cobaan yang membuat dia semakin tegar melewati usia yang tersisa.
Semenjak muda kemandirian telah mendidiknya. Kampung halaman rela ditinggalkan demi menapaki nasip, hanya bermodalkan asa untuk tujuan hidup yang diharapkan cerah. Berpisah dari ibu, ayah, sanak famili dan rumah tempat dia dibesarkan, hanya pakaian di badan dan ongkos sekedarnya. Tekad lah yang membulatkan niatnya untuk pergi merantau. Kisah lampau yang terjadi tahun -70 an dulu.
Berpuluh tahun berkelana ke berbagai daerah, ribuan kilo jalan yang telah dia tempuh. Berbagai aral yang terlewati, menantang usianya yang kala itu masih tunas. Namun, jiwa seorang perantau adalah “tabah”, hingga dapat menjadikan semuanya itu sebagai pelajaran untuk hidup.
Perlahan tujuan yang dicari semakin tampak, rezeki telah didapat walaupun masih sekedar, cukuplah sebagai bekal tuk merajut masa depan. Dia kemudian berkeluarga, sang istri diperturutkan untuk mengais hidup di negeri orang. Bahtera yang dipertemukan di tanah rantau. Bersama mereka menjunjung “Dimana Bumi Dipijak, Disitu Langit Dijunjung “.
Setelah sekian waktu, merekapun dikaruniakan buah hati. Berangsur-angsur karunia itu terus bertambah. Hingga di rumah kecil itu, hiduplah mereka bersama lima orang anak. Tiga lelaki dan dua perempuan. Titipan Ilahi yang sangat mereka cintai, namun takdir membiarkan anak-anak itu tumbuh dengan “kesederhanaan”. Tidak ada sedikitpun yang mereka sesalkan, karena selama ini kata itu yang setia menjadi “sobat” dalam mengarungi kehidupan.
“Kesederhanaan” mendidik manusia untuk tegar dan tidak mudah tergoda rupa semu nikmat duniawi, menggiring pada ujung keyakinan bahwa semua yang terjadi adalah atas kehendakNya. Semoga juga dengan “kesederhanaan”, anak-anak mereka dapat tumbuh sebagai manusia yang mengerti akan hidup yang lurus”.
Tidak semua “orang dulu” pemikiranya ‘kolot’, meskipun sepasang suami istri itu tidak mengecap pendidikan yang berarti. Mereka adalah orang tua yang bijak, dapat menyikapi pengalaman dan sadar bahwa “kebodohan” bukanlah penyakit yang harus ditularkan kepada generasi selanjutnya. Prinsip yang telah tertanam dalam akal, hingga pendidikan anak-anak mereka menjadi prioritas sedini mungkin.
Agama pun teramat penting sebagai pedoman hidup, patut diresapi kesakralanya dengan pemahaman yang benar. Setidaknya sebagai orang tua, mereka sadar bahwa meyakini keesaan Allah itu adalah wajib, maka sedari kecil kelima anaknya perlahan diajari Islam.
Yang terpenting menurut mereka adalah supaya bisa shalat dan mengaji. Pandangan tentang agama yang masih awam, dikarenakan jiwa suami istri itu tidak pernah lebih terasah untuk memahami agama secara absah. Namun, setidaknya niat mereka diringi kesungguhan. Dan walaupun awam, didikan mereka itu telah meyentuh tiang utama dari Agama Islam sendiri.
Berpuluh-puluh tahun perguliran waktu telah terlewati. Masing-masing anggota keluarga itu telah bersama untuk waktu yang sangat panjang. Banyak suka duka yang hadir silih berganti menghampiri keluarga ini. Kelima anak mereka telah tumbuh dewasa, perlahan satu-satu mulai menapaki hidup baru masing-masing.
Anak lelaki yang pertama telah berkeluarga, kemudian beranak satu pula. Betapa senang hati kedua orang tua itu ketika pertama kali menimang cucu. Begitu pula anak keduanya yang wanita, setelah merampungkan gelar sarjana, kemudian dipersunting oleh seorang pria baik. Cukuplah membuat hati kedua orang tua itu sumringah jika melihat kehidupan anaknya bahagia, seakan tidak mengharapkan apa-apa lagi.
Sedangkan anak yang ketiga masih menuntut ilmu di bangku kuliah, bersamaan dengan kedua orang adiknya yang juga masih sekolah.
Itu lah sedikit kisah yang bisa diceritakan tentang kehidupan mereka saat ini, tidak ada kisah menarik lain karena semuanya masih “sederhana”, atau mungkin itu yang sudah digariskan…
Selama hidupnya, kedua orang tua itu hanya mengabdi sepenuhnya untuk keluarga, yang utama adalah berusaha untuk kebahagiaan anak-anaknya. Mereka berdua tidak pernah mampu berikan limpahan kekayaan materi, tapi berusaha memberikan pelajaran lain yang dapat digunakan sebagai bekal hidup kelima anaknya nanti.
Bagaimana dengan kehidupan kedua orang tua itu sendiri?,
Mereka ihklas untuk tidak mengharapkan apapun, karena kebahagiaan keluarga adalah kebahagiaan mereka. Pikiran sederhana dan jujur mereka yang menyimpan harapan, dari benih yang ditanam akan menuai sesuatu nantinya.
Tapi, ternyata selama ini anaknya tidak pernah benar-benar memahami apa yang telah diajarkan oleh kedua orang tuanya. Mereka sengaja bermanja dengan kasih sayang kedua orang tua mereka yang terlalu, tanpa menyadari bahwa hal itu tidak pantas berada dibalik hidup “sederhana”.
Aku lah anak ketiga yang dibesarkan dalam keluarga “sederhana” ini, yang sekarang masih menjadi mahasiswa di salah satu perguruan tinggi. Aku yang menulis kisah singkat ini. Cerita tentang pergulatan hidup kedua orang tua yang tak kenal letih dalam menghidupi keluarga.
Mereka adalah kedua orang tua ku yang sangat kusayangi. Dari kecil aku dididik untuk “menjadi orang” , disekolahkan, sholat, mengaji. Aku tidak pernah tahu bagaimana rasanya jadi anak “orang mampu”, tapi hingga kini tidak secuil pun aku menyesal. Aku yang sekarang, tentulah pribadi yang akan seperti ini, entah bagaimana nanti hanya Kuasa yang Maha Mengetahui.
Tapi sesalku karena belum ada hal berarti yang telah kupersembahkan kepada kedua orang tua itu….
Jangankan diriku, mereka yang telah lebih dahulu dewasa, -kedua orang kakak ku-, seharusnya dengan kedewasaan mereka sudah bisa membahagiakan kedua orang tuanya, atau sedikitnya dapat membuat bangga.
…ternyata , “aku sama tidak mampunya dengan kedua kakak-kakak ku itu”,….
Hingga kapan semuanya begini ?
Seharusnya diantara kami sudah ada yang membuat kedua orang tua itu tersenyum bangga, walaupun mereka tidak terlalu mengharapkanya. Karena aku tahu, kedua orang tuaku tidak sama dengan orang diluar sana yang menanti bahkan menuntut anak-anak mereka untuk dapat “sombong”. Sungguh tidak seperti itu kami dididik…
Betapa besar keinginan ku untuk menulis kisah ini, terdorong oleh sesal dan limpahan kasih sayang ku terhadap Ayah dan Ibu. Akupun tahu seperti itu halnya saudara-saudari sedarah ku yang lain. Kami hadir di dunia karena dua orang itu, sedari kecil dicintai tiada tara, dirawat dan dididik hingga dewasa seperti kini.
Di usia senja mereka kini, tidak ada alasan untuk menyisihkan mereka , karena jika niat itu ada…kami adalah manusia “nista”.
Mungkin takdir yang akan menuntun semuanya itu. Alur hidup mengalir seperti air sungai, kami hanya mengikuti arus. Kadang terburai gelombang, pecah dihantam batu, namun dapat bersatu di muara nanti.
Jika hidup diibaratkan perputaran roda, memang terkadang harus berada di bawah lalu kembali ke atas. Menang dapat diraih, semudah kekalahan yang pasti hadir. Hanya Keimanan dan kesungguhan yang dapat menerima semuanya itu secara lumrah, seperti kehidupan yang wajar pula untuk binasa.
Untuk itu, hanya dengan keyakinan dan Niat suci semua keinginan dapat tercapai. Terbitlah kesadaran bahwa, jika ingin membahagiakan kedua orang tua, mutlak berasal dari niat tulus pribadi kami –anak anaknya-. Hilangkan keegoisan untuk terus “mengemis” belas kasih kedua orang tua secara berlebih, karena kedewasaan akhirnya menuntut kemandirian.
Tak ada guna melakukan hal yang sia-sia, seiring usia kedua orang tersayang kita yang semakin berlalu. Ujung hidup mereka pastilah kan tiba nanti, jangan sampai di saat itu barulah kita tersadar selama ini hanyalah berbuat hampa.
Aku sama sekali tidak menyalahkan siapapun, karena kasih ku pun tak ternilai untuk kalian. Tanpa kalian, pasti aku sudah lama jenuh dan pergi dari dunia yang membuat aku asing. Hanya kalian, manusia yang sungguh mengerti dan menyayangi aku sepenuh hati. Kalian, yang di dalam tubuhku mengalir darah yang sama. Saudara-saudariku…
Tapi, renungkanlah sejenak syair yang kugubah dengan derai air mata ini….
Bayangkanlah…
Tak pernah terpkirkah oleh kita rasa yang teramat pilu nantinya,
Disaat mereka pergi selamanya tingalkan kita sendiri.
Apalagi jika hanya sesal di kemudian,
mereka pergi tanpa sempat mengecap arti kita.
Waktu itu, kita hanya menangis di bawah batu nisan
Kita sandarkan tangis yang percuma.
Kasih sayang yang mereka berikan begitu dalam.
Sungguh kita tak sanggup, jika itu terjadi
Karena kita sungguh mencintai mereka.
Anggaplah ini saat ini terakhir kita melihat mereka,
Agar kita selalu berusaha membuat mereka tersenyum.
Jangan tunggu derai air mata,
Untuk ucapkan selamat jalan.
Sesungguhnya satu hari saja semua bisa binasa,
Untuk itu, berbuatlah yang terbaik bagi mereka yang kita cintai.
Bagi kita,
jika sesal itu terjadi,
Hancurlah hati sepanjang hidup.
Wahai Ibu,
telah lama kau acuhkan berbagai aral demi kami anak-anakmu,
berlalu di atas jejak derita, yang tulus kau tapaki,
Kini pun Ibuku tersayang, tak kenal letih untuk terus berjalan.
Sadarkah kalian anak-anaknya,…
tapak kakinya berbalur perih dari luka dan derita.
Sedangkan kita hanya memelas kasih yang dia berikan.
Kapankah kita mampu membalas ibu.
Aku yang jauh disini, …
Ingin mendekap sambil melepas tangis di pangkuanmu Ibu.
Sampai aku lelap dibawa mimpi…
Digiring ke masa kecilku dulu.
Aku yang pernah menorehkan luka,
tidak pernah kau pendam sakit hati itu.
karena “Aku Anak yang kau cintai”.
Kau selalu balas dengan “doa” ,
yang menjadi teman dalam kehidupanku.
Dengan apa aku membalas sebegitu besar kasih mu itu ibu…
Ayah…
Kau adalah sumber nafas kami…
Yang menjaga hidup kami.
Kau yang ajarkan aku menjadi lelaki,
Kau tak pernah lelah,
sebagai penopang dalam tiang rumah kecil kita.
Semua petuahmu kuanggap yang terbaik
Tapi, Aku hanya memanggil mu Ayah, di saat aku kehilangan arah
Aku hanya mengingatmu Ayah, jika aku telah jauh dari mu.
Hingga kini aku tahu, hanya Kaulah panutanku.
“Pandailah berkawan”, itulah nasehatmu…
Tanpamu, aku bukan yang sekarang.
Aku berani hidup jauh, karena anak dari seorang perantau tangguh.
Tetap tegar ku terjal aral, karena begitulah dirimu dulu.
Ragamu tak lagi sekokoh dulu,
Usia dan rautmu semakin renta,
Tapi kau selalu tetap Ayahku…
Lelaki tegar sederhana yang mewarisi pengalaman berarti…
Hanya lewat cerita pendek ini, aku yang jauh dapat menuangkan apa yang menjadi pikiran ku selama ini. Betapa besar keinginan untuk membahagiakan kedua orang tuaku, hingga hanya itu yang menjadi satu-satunya tujuan ku selama ini.
Tapi, terbersit juga rasa sesal yang sebenarnya bodoh untuk menyalahkan takdir. Tapi apa hendak dikata, aku juga manusia normal. Wajar kalau aku aku kecewa dengan kenyataan yang membuat kedua orang tuaku hingga kini masih belum dapat menikmati usia tua mereka dengan senang.
Tapi siapa yang harus disalahkan?…
Aku yang akan berusaha dengan batas kemampuan, diiringi daya pikiran yang ada dalam nalarku, semoga berguna segala formalitas yang sedang kutempuh kini.
Tapi yang terutama, aku adalah seorang anak yang mewarisi sifat pantang menyerah dari kedua orang tuanya. Hanya Aku, pikiran dan niat tulus, yang InsyaAllah dapat mewujudkanya.
Tanpa melupakan doa dan usaha kita bersama sebagai anak-anak dari kedua orang tua yang sangat mengasihi kita.

I really like the post, thanks for sharing the info. It’s not too often that you find a post where the writer knows what they are blogging about. Spelling and Grammar are on target as well, only problem I seemed to have was bringing up the page, seemed to take a while. Any other commentors have the same trouble?
