Lelaki Hujan
[Malang, 4 November 2009] Aku mengenalnya sebagai lelaki tangguh. Pria hebat. Dan seorang manusia yang unik, karismatik dan khas. Dialah Iskandar. Aku dan teman2 lainnya memanggilnya ‘Lelaki Hujan’.
Sekaranglah simaklah bagaimana ia dengan sederhana menggambarkan diri dan kehidupannya :
…aku lahir bersama hujan, hidup berdampingan dengan hujan, dan…mungkin suatu saat akan mati bersama dengan hujan…
Nama lengkapnya Iskandar Muda. Dia dilahirkan di sebuah gubuk reyot di pinggir sungai. Gubuk itu adalah rumah milik dukun bayi satu2nya se-kecamatan Kalibaru. Selebihnya, dukun bayi ada di kecamatan lain yg jaraknya harus ditempuh minimal 45 menit perjalanan. Sebenarnya di dusun sebelah ada dokter kandungan yang siap membantu, tapi apalah daya. Orang tua Iskandar hanyalah orang tua miskin dan sederhana. Bapaknya bekerja di bengkel tambal ban, sementara ibunya hanya ibu rumah tangga biasa.
Kamis malam, atau tepatnya masyarakat menyebutnya Malam Jumat, hujan tak reda2 sejak magrib tiba. Ibunya tak kawatir sedikitpun, karena prediksi dukun bayi, si jabang bayi lahir 3 hari lagi. Tapi semua keyakinan itu berubah, karena semenjak isya, ketuban pecah dan tiba2 si jabang bayi berontak. “Sudah mau keluar!!“, sang ibu berteriak2 seperti orang kesurupan. Akhirnya dengan susah payah, sang ibu dibonceng menuju rumah si dukun bayi.
Dan saat hujan itulah. Di gubuk reyot itulah. Iskandar Muda dilahirkan. Tangisnya membahana. Memberi kabar kebahagiaan dan sekaligus harapan. Sudah lama orang tuanya merindukan seorang anak setelah menikah bertahun2.
Iskandar beranjak besar. Bosan ia mendengar ibunya bercerita tentang kelahirannya. Cerita kuno bin jadul yang bahkan setiap detil katanya, Iskandar sudah menghapalnya di luar kepala :
…kamu itu ndar, lahir pas malem jumat, kamu lahir bersama hujan…
Siapapun tidak pernah mengira bahwa cerita itu akan berlanjut, dan Iskandar akan tumbuh bersama hujan. Kita akan memulainya dari kisah cinta pertama Iskandar.
Iskandar mengenal cinta pertamanya ketika SMP. Ketika itu hujan tiba sepulang sekolah. Ia berhenti sejenak untuk berlindung. Dan di tempat itulah ia bertemu Alifia. Temannya SMP yang belum pernah ia kenal sebelumnya. Ia hanya tahu dan mendengar tentang namanya. Alifia, seorang bintang SMP, seorang gadis yg dikenal ‘cantiknya keterlaluan‘.
Dan Iskandar setuju. Alifia memang ‘cantiknya keterlaluan‘.
Ia jatuh cinta.
Dan sekarang, setiap pulang sekolah ia selalu menunggu hujan. Karena hujan, kini baginya adalah anugrah. Hujan adalah cinta. Hujan adalah Alifia. Ia menyukai pertemuan itu. Pertemuan beberapa menit tanpa bicara, tanpa kata, hanya curi2 pandang dan senyuman. ‘Pertemuan karena hujan‘, begitu Iskandar menyebutnya.
Sampai sebulan berlalu, akhirnya Iskandar memantabkan hati. Ia utarakan cintanya pada Alifia. Seorang gadis yang ‘cantiknya keterlaluan‘ itu, yang ia tidak pernah berkenalan dengannya, yang ia tidak pernah berbicara satu patah katapun. Tahukah kawan, apa yg dikatakan Alifia, “cinta…siapa kamu? aku tidak mengenalmu…“
Hujan beralih menjadi badai dan petir! Remuk hati Iskandar.
Semenjak itu hujan tidak pernah datang lagi. Hujan hanya datang sebulan. Kering, tandus dan panas. Seperti cintanya yang tertolak. Yang tiba2 datang dan tiba2 pergi.
Hujan kini, seperti perlambang cinta. Kadang hujan begitu indah. Namun kadang begitu menyakitkan. Datang dan pergi tanpa basa basi. Ia tidak lagi mengenal musim.
Kadang ia tidak datang, meski ditunggu2. Kadang, ia datang tapi sebentar saja. Orang desa menyebutnya, ‘sekedar lewat‘. Hanya sekedar membasahi. Itu namanya ‘HUJAN MONYET‘. Yang ekstrim, kadang sekali datang, begitu mendadak, begitu banyak dan menjadi bencana. “Itulah hujan kawan, itulah cinta…“, demikian Iskandar bercerita tentang cintanya yg kering kerontang.
Waktu SMA, kisah sedih berlanjut. Bapak Ibunya meninggal dalam sebuah kecelakaan. Keluarga sederhana itu hanya punya sebuah motor butut. Dan di sore yang sepi, dalam perjalanan ke kota keduanya meninggal seketika di jalan. Rupanya hujan membuat jalanan menjadi licin. Sampai ketika keduanya melewati sebuah tikungan, selip tak bisa dihindari. Dan keduanya terlempar, lemah tak berdaya. Mati seketika, dan baru diketahui beberapa jam kemudian setelah hujan reda.
Iskandar berseloroh lagi, “hujan telah mengantar jiwa bapak ibuku menuju Tuhan di atas sana…“. Ia menangis sambil menunjuk langit yang bisu.
Ia tetap menangis. Dan hujan, selalu menjadi saksi kisah sang ‘lelaki hujan‘. Senangnya…dukanya…
Dan kini, di usianya yang sudah seperempat abad ia selalu menangis ketika hujan datang. Ia tercekat, diam, seolah ingin mencari makna ‘apa rahasia antara dirinya dan hujan‘. Ia selalu ingat perkataan ibunya dulu, sebuah cerita kuno bin jadul yang bahkan setiap detil katanya, Iskandar menghapalnya di luar kepala :…kamu itu ndar, lahir pas malem jumat, kamu lahir bersama hujan…
Setiap ada orang yang bertanya, kenapa ia selalu menatap hujan, ia selalu menjawab : “aku…sedang menunggu pelangi”.
